AL-01 Congressional Candidate Bradley Byrne Visits Washington County

Chatom, AL – July 26, 2013 – Former State Senator and candidate for Alabama’s First Congressional District Bradley Byrne visited Washington County on Friday, July 26th. Byrne is credited with cleaning up widespread corruption and cronyism in the Two-Year College System and is running for the seat that will be vacant following Congressman Jo Bonner’s resignation on August 2nd.

Byrne met with supporters and elected officials throughout Washington County during his visit. Byrne talked about the issues facing our nation,  saying “it’s time to balance the federal budget, without raising taxes, by holding the line on spending and allowing the American economy to grow.” He also shared the story of his Christian faith, pledging to defend our values and make our district an even better place to live, work and raise a family. Byrne is an active member of St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope.

The Byrne for Congress campaign has already made multiple stops in every county in the First Congressional District, reinforcing a commitment Byrne made to earn every single vote. “I plan to go door-to-door asking for each voter’s support, one at a time. No one will out work us in this campaign,” Byrne said.

Byrne said the new Congressman for the First Congressional District needs to have a background and experience in legislating, a history of fixing broken parts of government, an experience-based background in economic development and a proven record of standing up for the traditional, conservative values shared by South Alabamians.

Byrne and his wife Rebecca have been married for 32 years and are the parents of four children. For more information about the Byrne for Congress campaign, please visit
