Byrne Endorsed by National Rifle Association (NRA)

MOBILE, Ala. – Congressman Bradley Byrne (R-AL) announced today that the National Rifle Association (NRA) has endorsed his re-election campaign. Bradley, who has a A rating from the NRA, has long been a strong defender of the Second Amendment and has consistently opposed efforts to impose new gun laws on law-abiding Americans.

“As a gun owner and someone who has grown up hunting in Southwest Alabama, I am honored to have the support of the NRA,” Bradley said. “In Congress, I have stood up time and time again in opposition to any effort to restrict South Alabamians right to keep and bear arm. I’m proud of my pro-gun record, and I promise that I will never stop fighting to preserve the Second Amendment.”

In their letter of endorsement, Chris Cox, the chairman of the NRA’s Political Victory Fund, noted that Bradley has “always looked out for the interests of hunters, recreational shooters and Second Amendment supporters in Alabama.” Cox goes on to praise Bradley saying that that he has “consistently opposed attempts to ban lawfully-owned firearms, magazines and ammunition, and stood strong against President Obama’s and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun control agenda.”

Bradley was also named the 2015 and 2014 recipient of the Alabama Wildlife Federation’s Legislative Conservationist Award for his efforts to protecting wildlife and our outdoor resources in Alabama.
